In January of this year, Natalie O'Neill contacted us looking to source a new rear-mounted crane truck. The Operations Director at roofing supplies specialist Onestop Roofing was referred to us by Onestop Access, a sister company in the Onestop Group. Natalie was looking for a new truck supplier due to severe service issues with her current leasing company. As Natalie mentioned to Martin Shaw, our Managing Director " If our trucks aren't out delivering, they're not earning money for our business." A not too uncommon complaint when service levels drop and frustratingly so; impacting on your business, customers, and bottom line.
Natalie isn't new to managing transport, operating a mixed fleet of vans, curtain-siders and cranes for over 20 years, she understands the importance of operating a reliable fleet. The vehicle which was causing the most headaches and downtime due to inspections and repairs was a Mercedes 26-tonne fitted with an Atlas crane. On lease from an asset finance company and due for renewal in July, the Mercedes was serviced and supported by the local dealership. Dealing directly with the leasing company, Natalie was so frustrated by the layers of communication required to get anything actioned and also the extended lead-times to have routine work carried out on either the truck or crane.
